DWP_4_LogoThis release includes an DWP Agent update. We use the new Agent for all new installs. For existing installs, we will update the Agents automatically. Agent rollout will begin on September 17 and continue through September 24. If an Agent update fails during the rollout, we will notify you in a ticket.

Please note: As part of their Data Center expansion, LogMeIn is adding additional IP addresses to their firewall exclusions list.  You may need to take action.

This month, we are focusing on the following enhancements:

Network Availability Monitoring Beta

Our new Network Availability Monitoring capability is accessible as a General Availability Beta in September. It provides accurate connectivity insights at the site level and reduces noise at the device level.  This includes:

  • A "Device Down" ticket with timely and applicable notification on the root cause issue.
  • The ability to suppress device-down alerts when the network is unreachable at a given site. This will prevent you from being flooded by unnecessary tickets referring to individual devices not being connected.

Network Assessment

  • We have released a Client Connector module as part of our Network Assessment Tool. The Client Connector allows you to automatically transmit a scan to a secure cloud storage and retrieve it using the Network Assessment user interface.

Security

  • We have added the functionality to auto-update antivirus definitions for Servers. The antivirus products that will be supported are VIPRE, Norton, AVG and McAfee.
  • We have added "System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection (Microsoft Security Client) 4.x" to the list of products we support.

Patches

  • We have begun supporting third-party patching for servers. We can control settings and take advantage of this through Patch Policies. Tickets for missing third party patches on servers will begin generating on September 26th; this will ensure agents are on the latest version. Executive Reports will not contain third-party patch data for servers in September. We will be adding this in a 4th quarter release.
  • We can now suppress the Windows Update notice using a setting in Patch Policies.
  • We have fixed an issue that could cause "Reboot Pending" tickets to be re-assigned back to you when a patching ticket is updated.

NOC Proactive Remediation

  • For Standard and Premium clients, the NOC will be changing its processes to proactively implement solutions to a number of problems
  1. Configure page file settings/Move page file settings to another drive
  2. Disk defrags on servers
  3. Configure spam filter on Exchange
  4. Restart management services on VMware, install VMware patches if necessary
  5. Install hotfixes as part of troubleshooting steps

Scripts

  • We will be updating our list of supported Application Installer and Uninstaller scripts to add support for the following applications and versions:
  • Adobe Reader (v11.0.08)
  • CCleaner (v4.16)
  • Crypto Prevent (v7.0.0.2)
  • Java 7 Update 67
  • Microsoft Office 2013 Service Pack 1

Reports

This month's reporting improvements include:

  • The UI for the Reports home page has been improved with boxes and shading to make it easier to see between selections.
  • We have redesigned the Disk Space Report to make sorting and navigating the data easier with a single click to view the report.
  • We have improved the Malwarebytes Summary Report so that the values displayed reflect a summary of all scans that occurred during the selected date range.  A new column titled "Number of Scans" is available to show the number of scans performed during the selected date range. We have removed the following obsolete columns: Scan Status, Last Scan, Scan Type and Summary Time.

Communicator

  • We have added a new feature to allow creation of recurring messages in the Communicator.

RMM Scanning Tool
