it is now considered a pest by farmers because of its large numbers and fondness for grain. Which is probably why the name for a flock of these birds is a "Plague". We recently got a plague of around 15 Grackle hanging out at our house and they are feeding on the wild bird feeding station that we have put up last month. And generally making themselves unwelcome.
